Elaine Camuso

Elaine Camuso, a former news reporter, editor and freelance writer, came to Southwest Strategies after more than a decade working in the media. She started her journalism career at National Public Radio in Washington, D.C., and continues to pursue her interest in public affairs through her work as a Senior Account Executive for clients in the transportation, property development and non-profit sectors.

Throughout her career, Camuso has written more than 5,000 stories and conducted interviews with celebrities, CEOs, artists and experts across the spectrum of business, lifestyle and arts & entertainment news. Her news items have received prime coverage on top nighttime talk shows like The Daily Show, The Tonight Show and The Late Show; in newspapers like The Los Angeles Times and The New York Post; online at media outlets like Salon.com; and on hundreds of radio stations in the U.S. and overseas.

Besides news writing, Camuso's work experience has included freelance assignments in copywriting, web site content development, and the coordination of media campaigns for clients including a Northern California-based museum and a nationally-prominent law school consultant.

A graduate of the University of California at San Diego's well-renowned Communications program, Camuso is also a member of the Public Relations Society of America. When she's not working, she enjoys practicing yoga, reading contemporary fiction and cooking gourmet meals with her husband and daughter.
