Jessica Luternauer joined Southwest Strategies in 2007. In her position as a Manager of Public Affairs, she brings outstanding written communication skills to assist in the implementation of media and community outreach programs for a broad range of clients, including San Diego Gas & Electric, Centre City Development Corporation and the San Diego Association of Governments.

Luternauer has extensive marketing and public relations experience in a variety of industries. Prior to joining Southwest Strategies, she worked for a public speakers' bureau, where she administered e-mail marketing campaigns and oversaw the content of the company's website. Her current responsibilities include developing newsletters and eblasts, drafting news releases, coordinating mailings and events, writing copy for websites and collateral materials, conducting research, and developing innovative tactics for social media. Luternauer's work has contributed to successful public relations programs that have resulted in the approval of controversial projects.

A member of the Public Relations Society of America and the San Diego Press Club, Luternauer graduated Phi Beta Kappa with high honors from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a degree in English. She subsequently earned a master's degree in literature from the University of California, San Diego, where she taught composition, grammar and persuasive writing techniques for four years.

A California native, Luternauer enjoys spending time with friends and family and reading eighteenth-century novels.
