Kimberly Olive
Kimberly Olive

Since joining Southwest Strategies in 2007, Kimberly Olive has combined her communications background and political experience to assist the firm in developing strategic communications campaigns for public and private sector clients. Olive has expanded the firm's skill set in media training, strategic planning and brand marketing. Through her knowledge of California environmental law, Olive counsels clients in land use planning and development, two of California's most regulated industries.

Serving as Director of Public Affairs, Olive leads public outreach efforts and develops media and marketing strategies to help clients communicate with their audiences. She advises a variety of clients, including North County Transit District, Pardee Homes and Walmart Stores, Inc.

Prior to joining Southwest Strategies, Olive worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. She began her career as Legislative Correspondent to U.S. Senator Richard Shelby. She also served as Press Secretary to U.S. Congressman Spencer Bachus. While with Bachus, Olive handled outreach related to the Natalee Holloway missing person case and coordinated a three-day conference featuring HUD Secretary Alphonso Jackson. Olive later worked as Communications Director to U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson, where she served as Wilson's spokesperson and directed his communications strategy as it related to his role on the House Armed Services Committee.

Olive is a native of Alabama. She attended The University of Alabama where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. Olive has volunteered for numerous Republican Congressional campaigns and she is a member of the Lincoln Club of San Diego.

Olive enjoys traveling, reading and cooking, and she is an avid college football fan. Roll Tide!
