In January 2013, Poseidon Water hired SWS to launch a three-year public outreach effort for the Project to build public awareness of and regularly communicate construction activities and progress to more than 20,000 individuals spanning across three cities in North County San Diego.
Logo Design & Collateral Materials
SWS embarked on a large-scale public relations campaign, developing a project logo and branding suite, in an effort to engage and educate the public about the project and its construction process. Using an illustration of a rolling wave, the SWS team developed a website, infographics, bilingual fact sheets, eblasts, construction maps, photos and links to the project’s social media sites.
The Carlsbad Desalination Plant Dedication Event
Prior to the completion of the plant, Poseidon Water, the Water Authority and SWS began collaboratively planning the dedication event. The team developed a distinctive theme and brand for the event – “Now Serving: Pacific on Tap” – which reaffirmed the magnitude and historic significance of the project, with a nod to San Diego’s thriving craft beer culture.
