Kim Olive Colla

PSince joining Southwest Strategies in 2007, Kimberly Olive has combined her communications background and political experience to assist the firm in developing strategic communications campaigns for public and private sector clients. Olive has expanded the firm’s skill set in media training, strategic planning and brand marketing. Through her knowledge of California environmental law, Olive counsels clients in land use planning and development, two of California’s most regulated industries.
Serving as Director of Public Affairs, Olive leads public outreach efforts and develops media and marketing strategies to help clients communicate with their audiences. She advises a variety of clients, including Pardee Homes and Wal-Mart Stores, Inc.
Olive worked on past North County Transit District projects, including undertaking a Marketing and Communications Assessment, developing a Marketing and Strategic Communications Plan and Brand Identity Guidelines and preparing communications materials such as community reports, presentations, fact sheets and the like.
Prior to joining Southwest Strategies, Olive worked on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C. She began her career as Legislative Correspondent to U.S. Senator Richard Shelby. She also served as Press Secretary to U.S. Congressman Spencer Bachus and later worked as Communications Director to U.S. Congressman Joe Wilson.
Olive is a native of Alabama. She attended The University of Alabama where she graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication.Back To Our People
