Senior Account Executive
Natalia Mendez is a Senior Account Executive at Southwest Strategies. She supports the firm by assisting in major outreach projects for transportation and land use clients, utilizing her skills in community relations and event planning. She serves a multi-faceted role and supports numerous SANDAG and Caltrans projects, including collateral material development, event coordination and construction outreach.
Prior to Southwest Strategies, Mendez worked on the Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series, an internationally recognized event producer that oversees more than 30 events each year. During her time as the Community Relations Manager, Mendez served as the public facing liaison, working with local government agencies, local elected officials, and community and business organizations for eight events nationwide. In addition to her duties, Mendez helped to bolster community engagement and corporate social responsibility by coordinating more than 20 community service projects aimed at giving back to local neighborhoods and improving local relationships.
Mendez is active in her community of North Park and is on the board for the North Park Community Association. Her spirit of volunteerism also earned her a nomination for the 2017 Women in Leadership Awards for the East County Chamber of Commerce. She holds a bachelor’s of arts degree in Communications from California State University Bakersfield.
Martinez studied Mass Communication and Journalism at Fresno State University. While attending Fresno State, she was active in the university’s Hispanic Business Student Association and acted as the group’s Publicity Coordinator in 2006. She also volunteered for various non-profit organizations including Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Central Valley and the Fresno Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
A native Californian, Mendez enjoys spending time outdoors and is continuing on her quest to see the world. As an avid traveler, Mendez has visited more than 12 countries and is obsessed with travel docuseries that highlight other cultures and delicacies.Back To Our People
