Manager of Public Affairs
Natalie Buchbinder is a Senior Account Executive at Southwest Strategies. In that role, she draws on her strong writing, policy and public affairs background to assist with Southwest Strategies’ clients including Pacific Gas and Electric Company.
Prior to joining the firm, Buchbinder served as an Assembly Fellow in the office of California State Assemblymember Brian Maienschein, where she developed press materials for several bills, made policy recommendations for human services legislation and advised on multiple issue areas. Among her accomplishments while in the Assemblymember’s office was assisting the team in the passage of a crucial bill informing children in juvenile dependency proceedings of their right to speak in court hearings. Prior to her selection as a Fellow, Buchbinder worked for the San Diego County Taxpayers Association as a policy analyst and for an international airline as a public affairs assistant.
Buchbinder graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and minor study in Business Administration from the American University in Washington, D.C. While attending American, she secured internships with a national magazine and the United States House of Representatives. Buchbinder was active in the university’s chapter of the national service fraternity Alpha Phi Omega, and volunteered in two Italian high school classrooms studying the English language during her semester abroad in Italy.
A San Diego native, Buchbinder enjoys spending her free time with family and friends, traveling and taking advantage of San Diego’s beautiful beaches.Back To Our People
