Senior Account Executive Lidiya Kravchuk recognized as New Pro of the Year
SAN DIEGO, CA (November 22, 2016) –– Southwest Strategies, a leading California public affairs agency, was honored with four awards at the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) – San Diego/Imperial Counties Chapter’s 2016 Edward L. Bernays Mark of Excellence Awards on October 20.
Additionally, one of the event’s three special awards, the New Pro of the Year award, was given to Lidiya Kravchuk, a Southwest Strategies Senior Account Executive. The award recognizes an emerging young professional for their outstanding efforts in the public relations industry.

Southwest Strategies received a Silver Award of Excellence in the category of Events and Observances (Seven Days or Fewer) – Nonprofit/Government/Association for its work on the South Bay Rapid Groundbreaking Ceremony. Southwest Strategies, in support of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), helped plan and execute a groundbreaking ceremony to celebrate the beginning of construction for the South Bay Rapid Project, a $126 million effort to provide travelers with a frequent and reliable transit choice for South San Diego County. The event successfully highlighted the collaboration between local agencies and South County communities and developed goodwill among community leaders.
Southwest Strategies was also recognized with a Bronze Bernays Award in the category of Press Kits for its work on the Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant dedication event. The comprehensive event media kit provided an online portal with an extensive library of multimedia content. As a result, the media event generated more than 50 broadcast, print and digital news stories. Two other Bronze Bernays Awards were won for Creative Tactics – the Claude “Bud” Lewis Carlsbad Desalination Plant Tour and Boards and Brochures – the Otay Mesa East/State Route 11 Port of Entry Project Brochure.
The annual Bernays Awards are the highest local honors in the local public relations industry. Awards are categorized by complexity, with Silver Awards recognizing extended campaigns and Bronze Awards noting single tactics.
