Avery Johnston is an Account Coordinator at Southwest Strategies supporting public and private sector clients across the state. Her background in marketing and journalism make her a great addition to the team. At Southwest Strategies, Johnston applies her knowledge to develop complex and innovative solutions for the challenges our clients face today.

Prior to joining Southwest Strategies, Johnston held positions in journalism as a Staff Reporter for Central Valley newspapers The Rampage and The Collegian where she worked on a variety of controversial stories. She was honored with the Eli Setencich Journalism Scholarship for her work in the field. Most recently, she was a Marketing and Communications Intern for the Girl Scouts of Central California South where she assisted in graphic design, outreach and social media. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations from California State University, Fresno, and an Associate in Arts from Fresno City College.
